NCC Men's Basketball hosted Doane College on February 6.
Both teams started off strong offensively, Doane was the first to gain a solid lead (12-20). NCC answered with a 9-0 run regaining the lead (21-20). At the half, the Sentinels trailed by 5 (32-35).
In the second half, Doane held on to the lead for the majority of the half, but the Sentinels remained within striking distance. With 8 minutes remaining, NCC put together a 12-3 run giving the, back the lead (55-54). Made free throws down the stretch carried the Sentinels to the 80-72 victory.
DJ Hanes finished with 34 points and 9 rebounds followed by
Devin Jones with 12 points and 7 rebounds.
For Doane, Nick Kornieck totaled 21 points.
Next, the Sentinels will host Ecclesia College on Saturday, February 9 at 6p.m.
