Major: Sports Management

2017-2018: Hanes led the nation in scoring with averaging 33.7 points per game. Hanes averaged 5.0 rebounds per game 2.1 assists per game, and 2.1 steals per game. Hanes totaled 909 points, reaching 2,000 points (2,020 career). DJ shattered his single game career high points with a 63-point performance on February 20 against Central Christian College. Hanes received the team MVP award and was selected as the NCCAA DI Student Athlete of the Week two times. Hanes was named to the NCCAA D1 All-Region First Team.

Grace: Hanes averaged 26.8 points per game. During his sophomore season, his team qualified for regionals. DJ is a member of the 1,000 point club with 1,111 points after his first two seasons. Hanes ranks second in Grace history for points averaged with 26.8 and is tied for most points in a single season with 751. DJ also ranks second at Grace for points in a single game with 42. Hanes ranks 8th in free throws made in a single season with 129. Hanes was also named to the NCCAA D1 All-Region Second Team for the Central Region.

High School: Hanes was a member of the varsity basketball team for 3 years. He averaged 25 points per game. Every year on varsity, his team made it to the playoffs. Hanes also played football and track. For football, he holds four of the five receiving records and holds the record for the longest touchdown in history and most yards in one game with 211 yards.

Hobbies: Drawing, playing video games, and watching movies.

Family: DJ is the son of Derek and Frances Hanes and brother to Jordyn.
