NCC Men's Basketball hosted Ecclesia College on February 9.
Ecclesia was first too add points to the board but the Sentinels weren't far behind. Midway through the first half, NCC led by 6 points (21-15). The Sentinels continued to hold onto the lead for the remainder of the half and held an 11-point going into halftime (38-27).
In the second half, the Sentinels continued to hold onto their lead but Ecclesia worked to cut into the lead. As the game was winding down, NCC allowed a 13-2 run, which gave Ecclesia a 1-point lead with just under 5 minutes to play (59-60). 4 lead changes and 5 ties sent the context into overtime. At the end of regulation the score was 71-71. In overtime, NCC put their free throws in, propelling them to a 7-point victory over Ecclesia (81-74).
Matt Lillquist finished with a solid double-double with 22 points and 14 rebounds.
Chris Pendley added 10 points and 8 rebounds followed by
Kyle Bohuslavsky and
Drue Aguilera each with 9 points.
For Ecclesia, Vince Toftness scored 24 points.
Next, the Sentinels will host College of the Ozarks on Tuesday, February 12 at 7p.m.
