NCC Men's Basketball hosted Morningside College on January 16.
Morningside gained control of the game from the opening minutes of the game. Midway through the first half, NCC found themselves in a 22-point deficit (6-28). Morningside led by as many as 36 points but the Sentinels managed to cut the lead down to 33 points at the half (20-53).
In the second half, NCC tried to cut into the lead and were able to force some turnovers however, shots were not falling for the Sentinels allowing Morningside to continue to extend their lead. At the 11-minute mark, Morningside led by 40 points (30-70). In the end, NCC fell to Morningside 50-90.
Chris Pendley led all scorers with 15 points. Pendley also grabbed 4 rebounds and blocked 4 shots.
Devin Jones added 10 points followed by
DJ Hanes with 7 points.
For Morningside, Trey Brown put together a double-double with 14 points and 14 rebounds.
Next, the Sentinels will travel to Sioux Center, Iowa to take on Dordt College on Saturday, January 19 at 4p.m.
