BELLEVUE, NE - Nebraska Christian College Women's Basketball opened 2020 at Bellevue University. Prior to break, the Sentinels were winners of 5 in a row and on a hot streak. NCC opened up the first quarter with 17, but Bellevue matched with 18. The depth of the Bruins really showed in the second quarter as they pulled ahead to take a 33-24 lead into half. The Sentinels gave a good effort, but couldn't quite keep up with the fast running Bruins as they ran away in the third quarter. Bellevue would end up winning the contest with a score of 72-48.
Bianca Casares paced the Sentinels with 16 points and pulled down 7 rebounds.
Camry Porter started off the new year strong with a points and rebounds double-double, 13 and 10 respectively. Coach Carlson had the following to say after the loss. "We have to give credit to Bellevue for making shots, but we know our team is capable of more than we saw today. We are working to incorporate a couple of new girls to the rotation, and I'm confident we will get our rhythm back soon."
Nebraska Christian will host Central Christian College of the Bible on Monday, January 6th. Earlier this season, NCC scored a season high 94 in a rout of the Saints.
