LAWRENCE, KS - The Nebraska Christian College Men's Basketball Team was in town to challenge Haskell Indian Nations University. The Sentinels were victorious in a tightly contested game earlier in the season. Haskell was prepared to defend their home court and jumped out to an early. Nebraska Christian found themselves down headed into halftime and the lead grew into the second half. However, the Sentinels battled back and applied pressure down the stretch. The comeback effort fell just short as the Sentinels lost by 9 with a final count of 67-58.
The Sentinel Defense was strong again and is the 4th ranked scoring defense in the NCCAA D1. Nebraska Christian only gives up 72.5 points per game on the year and did better than that on Wednesday. Unfortunately for the Sentinels, they couldn't get enough shots to fall down the stretch to steal the road victory.
The Sentinels moved to 9-8 with the season split and will head to Springdale, AR on Saturday to play regional foe Ecclesia College.
