NCC Women's Basketball traveled to Denver, Colorado to take on Johnson & Wales University on February 22.
The Sentinels started off the game with a 9-2 run, giving them the early lead. Johnson & Wales answered with a run of their own and cut NCC's lead to 1 at the end of the first quarter (13-12). In the second quarter, Johnson & Wales gained their first lead of the game but the Sentinels stuck close. At the half, both teams were tied at 23.
In the second half, the Sentinels outscored Johnson & Wales 22-6, giving NCC a 16-point lead at the end of the third quarter (45-29). In the fourth quarter, NCC held on to their lead, securing the 20-point win over Johnson & Wales (61-41).
Kayla Bloodworth led the Sentinels with 16 points, 16 rebounds, and 8 blocks.
Alexis Frondarina finished with 16 points and 4 assists followed by
Jazmyne Santiel with 10 points.
For Johnson & Wales, Brianna Bailey scored 24 points.
Next, the Sentinels will take on Johnson & Wales again to Saturday, February 23 at 1p.m.
