Game Recap: Men's Basketball | | Jacob Heck

Sentinel's Stellar Defense Leads to 3rd Straight W

JOPLIN, MO - Nebraska Christian Men's Basketball was on the road again, this time against Ozark Christian College. Ozark Christian has a strong campaign going in the 2019-2020 season and looked to get a very valuable win against the Sentinels. NCC has been led by their defense all year, and the first half in this one was no exception. The Sentinels held the Ambassadors to just 21 points at the break. However, the Sentinels were only able to score 30 points of their own. NCC stretched the lead out early in the second half, but Ozark would not go away. OCC went on a run and even took the lead 58-57 with 3:42 to go. However, NCC stayed the course and was able to hang on to a 3 point lead and victory when OCC missed a shot at the buzzer. The Sentinels 66-63 victory was their third win in a row.

Nebraska Christian was led in scoring by Drue Aguilera who had 18 points. Kyle Bohuslavsky contributed 5 points and 10 assists. However, it was Jordan Makanjuola's energy and defense led ensured the victory for the Sentinels. The coaches raved about his performance after the game. "Jordan really took over in the second half for us. It was his energy and defense that helped lead us home. His 17 points didn't hurt, but Jordan was much more than a stat tonight for us."

NCC is now 8-4 and will play at rival Manhattan Christian College on Thursday, December 12th.
