Santiel's 25 Not Enough Against Balanced Midland

On Thursday, October 31st the Nebraska Christian College Women's Basketball Team traveled to Midland, NE to take on the Midland University Warriors in the first game of the Bellevue/NCC Classic. Jazmyne Santiel of the Sentinels played an excellent game and had a game high 25 points, but it wasn't enough to out duel the balanced attack of the Warriors. Midland would win the game with a final count of 86-46.

The Lady Warriors built their lead in the early parts of the game scoring 22 and 31 points in the first 2 quarters of competition. However, the Sentinels would rally in the second half and hold their own in those periods. Jazmyne Santiel was excellent for the Sentinels making 5 of her 10 three point attempts in route to a 25 point night. April Eldridge chipped in by going a perfect 2 of 2 from the free throw line and hauling in a game high of 7 rebounds.

After the game, Coach Carlson chose to look at the positives. "We really competed hard and didn't give up in the second half. I was really impressed to see how much closer we held the margin of those quarters. I'm also excited to see some of our players start to find a groove together, and I think that is something we can build on. It is a long season and we are invested in this group for the long haul. I'm looking forward to getting on the court again tomorrow afternoon for our home opener."

The Sentinels will play their second matchup of the Bellevue/NCC Classic on Thursday, November 1st at 1:00pm. NCC and Cottey College will be the opening game of the day at the Gordon Lozier Athletic Center on the campus of Bellevue University
