On Wednesday, October 9th the Nebraska Christian College Men's Soccer Team hosted the Manhattan Christian College Thunder at the Springfield Soccer Complex. The rivalry matchup delivered a very competitive game. The Thunder would go on to edge the Sentinels 2-0. The two teams will meet again in Kansas on October 17th.

Manhattan started the first half with the wind in their favor. The Thunder made an early run and converted a penalty kick at the 12:47 mark. Each team would make a few more runs, but the halftime score remained 1-0 in favor of the Thunder. The Sentinels were much more aggressive with the wind in the second half, but could not finish any of their shot attempts. Manhattan would pad its lead with another goal in the 61st minute.

With the win, Manhattan goes above .500 on the year with a 6-5-0 record. They will play at Ozark Christian on Saturday. The Sentinels drop to 3-7-0 on the season. NCC will face another rivalry opponent on Friday, October 11th when Lincoln Christian (0-12-1) comes to Omaha. The match will be played at Morrison Stadium at 6:00 PM and will be a part of Sentinel Preview Days.
