NCC Women's Basketball hosted Emmaus Bible College on January 5.
The Sentinels came out strong, knocking down back-to-back three's. NCC went on to extend their lead to double digits (18-7). One more bucket from Emmaus brought the lead down to 9 points at the end of the first quarter (18-9). In the second quarter, NCC maintained their lead but were outscored 22-15 by Emmaus cutting the Sentinels lead to 2 at the half (33-31).
In the third quarter, NCC began to extend their lead again, but Emmaus remained within striking distance, not allowing the Sentinels to reach a double-digit lead during the quarter. At the end of the third quarter, NCC led by 7 (49-42). The Sentinels remained in control during the fourth quarter and pulled out the 63-55 victory against Emmaus.
NCC pulled together and recorded 21 assists on 24 made field goals.
Alexis Frondarina finished with 22 points and 6 assists and
Jazmyne Santiel totaled 16 points and 5 assists.
Bianca Casares added 11 points and
Kayla Bloodworth recorded 18 rebounds and 6 blocks.
Camry Porter finished with 8 points and 8 rebounds.
For Emmaus, Tiffany Williams recorded a double-double with 28 points and 14 rebounds.
Next, the Sentinels will host Ozark Christian College on Monday, January 7 at 5p.m.
