NCC Women's Basketball traveled to Lincoln, Illinois to take on Lincoln Christian University on January 25.
The Sentinels started the game off with a quick bucket, however, both teams hit a scoring drought that was broken at the 5:30 mark when Lincoln Christian tied it up (2-2). After the first quarter, NCC trailed by 3 (11-14). The Sentinels opened the second quarter on an 8-0 run giving them back the lead (19-14). At the half, NCC secured a 9-point lead (31-22).
Coming out of halftime, NCC quickly extended their lead to double-digits. As the third quarter came to a close, the Sentinels built up a 19-point lead (51-32). A handful of unanswered points from Lincoln Christian cut the lead to 14 at the end of the quarter (51-37). In the fourth quarter, NCC remained in control and finished with an 11-point victory over Lincoln Christian (66-55).
Kayla Bloodworth recorded her 12
th career triple double with 16 points, 16 rebounds, and a career-high 16 blocks.
Jazmyne Santiel finished with 22 points followed by
Alexis Frondarina with 16 points. Frondarina shot 50% from beyond the arc (4-8).
For Lincoln Christian, Kenzie Schlipf scored 15 points.
Next, the Sentinels will travel to Moore, Oklahoma to take on Randall University on Thursday, February 7 at 5:30p.m.
