NCC Comes Up Short At Randall
NCC Women's Basketball traveled to Moore, Oklahoma to take on Randall University on February 7.
The Sentinels started out on a 10-3 run, securing the early lead. However, Randall quickly answered and cut the lead to 1 point at the end of the quarter (13-12). A couple minutes in to the second half, Randall gained their first lead of the game (14-15). NCC gained back the lead, but Randall held onto a 3-point lead going into halftime (18-21).
Coming out of halftime, both teams continued to exchange baskets but Randall continued with the slight edge over NCC going into the fourth quarter (30-31). Randall extended their lead to 8 points early in the fourth quarter (30-38). NCC answered with a 12-2 run, giving them back the lead with 4 minutes to play (42-40). Both teams fought hard until the end and Randall held a 3-point lead 1 second remaining. The Sentinels made an attempt to send the game into overtime but came up one point short in the end (51-52).
Jazmyne Santiel led all scorers with 18 points. Santiel also dished out 6 assists.
Kayla Bloodworth put together a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Aleita Amparan grabbed 11 rebounds along with 6 points.
For Randall, Aaliyah Austin scored 13 points.
Next, the Sentinels will host Ecclesia College on Saturday, February 9 at 4p.m.
