NCC Women's Basketball traveled to Bellevue, Nebraska to take on Midland University at the Bellevue University Classic on Saturday, November 3.
Midland was first to score and would not relinquish their lead for the remainder of the game. The Sentinels were able to come within 2 points during the first quarter, however, a 10-2 run for Midland extended their lead to 10 points. One more bucket from the Sentinels brought the lead down to 8 going into the second quarter (13-21). NCC continued to work to make up the deficit, at the end of the first half, Midland had only extended their lead by one more point, leading by 9 going into halftime (24-33).
In the second half, Midland carried over their offensive momentum and started to build their lead. At the end of the third quarter, Midland led by 16 (34-50). A 10-0 run from Midland extended their lead to 27 (34-61). In the end, NCC suffered the 33-point loss (39-72).
Jazmyne Santiel led the Sentinels with 12 points.
Kayla Bloodworth was one point shy of a double-double with 9 points and 10 rebounds. Bloodworth also recorded 6 blocks.
Camry Porter also finished with 9 points.
For Midland, Makenna Sullivan scored 12 points.
Next, the Sentinels will travel to Aberdeen, South Dakota to take on Presentation College on Wednesday, November 7 at 5p.m.
