NCC Defeats University of St. Katherine

NCC Women's Basketball played University of St. Katherine in their second and final game of the Hope International University Classic on November 20.
 
Both teams started out cold from the field, neither team scoring for the first three minutes of play. The Sentinels were the first to add points to the board with back-to-back buckets giving NCC the early 4-point lead. NCC continued to add to their lead, at the end of the first quarter, The Sentinels led by 14 (21-7). St. Katherine gained some offensive momentum in the second quarter and cut the lead down to 7 (27-20). NCC answered with a 13-0 run bumping their lead up to 20 points. At the half, the Sentinels led 40-23.
 
In the second half, NCC continued to extend their lead, with a 25-point advantage going into the fourth quarter (55-30). The Sentinels added ten more points to their lead in the fourth quarter, ending with the 34-point victory for NCC 69-35 over St. Katherine.
 
Jazmyne Santiel totaled 26 points. Kayla Bloodworth recorded a double-double with 16 points and 15 rebounds. Alexis Frondarina also added 16 points along with 6 assists.
 
For St. Katherine, Keondra Smith finished with 14 points and 8 rebounds.
 
Next, the Sentinels will travel to Dubuque, Iowa to take on Emmaus University on Tuesday, November 27 at 5p.m.
