The Sentinels Fall to Waldorf

NCC Women's Basketball hosted Waldorf University on November 16.

Waldorf started with a 10-2 run, the Sentinels came back and tied the game 12-12. One more bucket from Waldorf gave them the 14-12 lead going into the second quarter. Waldorf built their lead up to 9 points in the second quarter (23-32). NCC ended the half on an 8-2 run, finding themselves down by 3 going into halftime (31-34).

NCC picked up where they left off completing a 17-2 run from the first and second half, giving the Sentinels a 6-point lead (40-34). Both teams exchanged baskets for the remainder of the quarter with Waldorf holding a 2-point lead to close the quarter (46-48). Waldorf held onto their lead and built it up to 6 points at most, NCC pulled within 1-point at the 4:25 mark and attempted to reclaim the lead; however, they were unable to overcome the deficit. In the end, the Sentinels came up short against Waldorf (65-69). 

Kayla Bloodworth shattered her career high with 42 points. Bloodworth also totaled 19 rebounds, 5 blocks, and 4 assists. April Eldridge ended with 7 points and 10 rebounds. 

For Waldorf, Michaela Graffunder recorded a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds. 

Next, the Sentinels will travel to Fullerton, California to participate in the Hope International University Classic on November 19 and 20. First, the Sentinels will play Hope International University on Monday, November 19 at 7p.m. CST/5p.m. PST. in the historic first meeting between the two sister schools.
