Jenna Bloodworth heads into her third season at Nebraska Christian College as the Head Women’s Basketball Coach; she also serves as the Sports Information Director for the Athletic Department. Bloodworth came to NCC in the Spring of 2017 and kicked off the inaugural season of Sentinel Women's Basketball finishing with a 13-15 record for the 2017-18 year. In her second year with the Sentinels, Bloodworth led the team to a 15-13 record which qualified the team to attend the NCCAA DI Regional Tournament in 2018-19.
Prior to NCC Bloodworth spent two seasons coaching for the Women’s Basketball program at Grace University. She was promoted from her role as assistant coach at Grace in 2015-2016 to Interim Head Women’s Basketball Coach for the 2016-2017 season. She also served as the Athletic Administrative Assistant. Bloodworth graduated from Moody Bible Institute with a Bachelor of Arts in Youth Ministry.
Bloodworth played four seasons at Moody Bible Institute (2011-15) and totaled 1333 points (13.7 ppg), 1132 rebounds (11.7 rpg) and 357 blocked shots (3.7 bpg) in 97 career games, and averaged a double-double for each of her last three seasons and averaged 10 or more rebounds in all four seasons.
She received National Christian College Athletics Association (NCCAA) Division II Player of the Year honors and NCCAA All-American first team honors as a junior and senior, and was named to the NCCAA Division II All-Midwest Region team for three seasons. Bloodworth served as team captain as a junior and senior and received Moody Bible Institute’s Presidential Award as Female Athlete of the Year after her senior season and was named team Most Valuable Player. As a sophomore, she also received MBI’s Coach’s Award and was named to the Moody Bible Institute All-Tournament team. She was named NCCAA Division II Student-Athlete of the Week four times during her career.
She began her MBI career in 2011-12, averaging 9.2 points, 11.7 rebounds and 2.9 blocks as a freshman. As a sophomore, she contributed 10.9 points, 10.3 rebounds and 3.2 blocks in an injury-shortened season. In her junior year, Bloodworth averaged 18.4 points, 12.1 rebounds and 3.5 blocked shots and shot .522 from the field.
During her senior season in 2014-15, Bloodworth led the NCCAA Midwest Region in scoring (16.6 ppg), rebounding (12.3 rpg), field goal percentage (.529), and blocked shots (121) and led the nation in rebounds and blocks.
Coach Bloodworth’s foundational verse for her basketball programs is Colossians 3:23-24 “Whatever you do work at it with all your heart, as for the Lord and not for man, knowing that from the Lord you will receive your inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Jesus Christ”
Bloodworth is the daughter of Jeff and Jayne Bloodworth and sister to Emily (Married to Eric, Daughters Mackenzie, Hannah and Megan), Tyler (Married to Blessing), Kayla and Kristyn.
