Coach Tosaya

Jeremy Tosaya

The former Director for South Dakota State Soccer Association from 2014-2016, Coach Tosaya has 15 years of collegiate coaching experience. He joined the team at NCC in 2017 and kicked off the inaugural seasons for Men's and Women's Soccer while serving as the Director of Soccer Operations overseeing both programs.

Prior to NCC he was the head men’s soccer coach at Dakota Wesleyan University for seven seasons. Tosaya coached 26 All-GPAC award winners, 17 NAIA Scholar-Athlete winners, and four Academic All-District selections.  The Tigers broke numerous program records under the direction of Coach Tosaya and is currently the winningest coach in program history.  In 2014 the team recorded the longest winning streak, in 2011 DWU finished the regular season second in the GPAC (their highest regular season finish) which allowed them to host their first ever play-off games.  That same season the Tiger men had eight All-GPAC selections, the most in program history for one season.  In 2010 the Tigers qualified for their first conference play-offs and upset the #2 seed Doane College Tigers before they were eliminated by the University of Sioux Falls in a double overtime thriller.  The Tiger men also garnered their first of three consecutive NSCAA Team Academic Awards in 2012; a feat the program had never achieved.

Before accepting the coaching position at DWU, Tosaya spent four seasons as a head coach at two NAIA schools, and three seasons as an assistant women’s coach at an NCAA Division II program.  All together Coach Tosaya has led 34 All-Conference selections, 11 NCCAA All-Region Selections, 35 NAIA Scholar Athlete winners, and six NSCAA Team Academic Awards in 11 years as a head coach.

In addition to his collegiate coaching duties, Jeremy is a member of the Midwest Region US Youth Soccer Olympic Development Program coaching staff. He is the Director of Coaching Education for Gretna Soccer Club, a current member of the Academy Staff for United Soccer Coaches, and a National Instructor for the US Soccer Federation. Coach Tosaya has been actively involved in sports missions with Athletes in Action serving in the Caribbean conducting player and coaching clinics since 2014.

The son of missionaries, Jeremy found himself at Nebraska Christian College as a student-athlete for two years, after a year in junior college, before he completed a bachelor’s degree in psychology (2003) and a Master of Science in Education in exercise science (2005) both from Wayne State College (NE).

Coach Tosaya’s foundational verse for his soccer programs is 2 Corinthians 2:14-15, “But thanks be to God, who always leads us as captives in Christ’s triumphal procession and uses us to spread the aroma of the knowledge of him everywhere. For we are to God the pleasing aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing.”
