DENVER, CO - Nebraska Christian defeated Johnson & Wales last night and now look to make it two in a row. JWU is playing to defend their home court and honor their senior. NCC is playing for a win to reach 12-12 on the season and birth in the NCCAA DI National Tournament. The game started off tight again as the two schools traded baskets early. The Sentinels were able to stretch it out in the second quarter and take an 8 point lead into half. Once again, the Wildcats would not go away in the third quarter matching the Sentinels shot for shot. Nebraska Christian Santiel was able to energize the Sentinels and they pulled away in the fourth quarter. NCC won their final game of the regular season by a score of 62-43.
Jazmyne Santiel posted another double-double on JWU with 22 points and 14 rebounds. Other Sentinels in double figures were
Camry Porter with 12 points and 9 rebounds and
Bianca Casares with 11 points and 5 rebounds.
Justice Alioth also added 9 points and 7 rebounds off the bench.
The NCC Women's Basketball Team finished the season with a 12-12 record after winning their last 3. The Sentinels qualified for a birth at the NCCAA DI National Tournament as the Central Region Champions. The National Tournament is set to be held on the campus of Grace College in Winona Lake, IN on March 18th-21st. This will be the first appearance by the NCC Women's Basketball Team at the National Tournament and a fitting way for their 4 seniors to cap off their season.
