MADISON, SD - The Nebraska Christian College Men's Basketball Team traveled north to face off against Dakota State. This will mark the final regular season game for the Sentinels this year and they did not disappoint. The Trojans matched the Sentinels shot for shot early in the game as the game and lead was back and forth. Coleman and Collier combined for back to back makes in the final minutes to push the Sentinel lead to 11 at the half. NCC kept rolling into the second half as a bucket by Aguilera pushed the lead to 15. However, the Trojans were not ready to pack it in. Dakota State slowly got back into the game and even took a 3 point lead at 56-53 with just 5:33 remaining in the game. The Sentinels held strong, and matched the Trojans.
Uzi Felix scored 6 straight points in the final 2 minutes to put the Sentinels up for good. NCC then clinched the game late with a couple of free throws.
Uzi Felix was fantastic for the Sentinels scoring a game high 21 points including those late buckets for the Sentinels off the bench.
Jeremiah Coleman was also in double figures with 11 points and
Isaiah Collier stuffed the stat sheet with 7 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 assists.
This win got the Sentinels to 15-12 on the season and clinched the #1 seed for them at the NDAG National Qualifying Tournament. A win at the tournament is good for a birth at the NCCAA DI National Tournament. The NDAG will be played on March 6-7 at West Coast Baptist College in Lancaster, CA.
