OVERLAND PARK, KS - The Nebraska Christian College Women's Basketball Team traveled to Kansas to face-off against the Kansas Christian College Falcons. The Sentinels jumped out in the first quarter to a 24-14 lead. The Falcons tried to get back into the game by going plus 5 in the second and third quarters combined. However, the NCC put their foot down in the fourth with a 21-10 run to close the game. The Sentinels won this first game of a home-and-home series with a final score of 74-58.
The Sentinels were led to victory by
Jazmyne Santiel's offensive explosion. Santiel scored a game high 40 points and grabbed a game high 14 rebounds. This colossal double-double insured that the Sentinels would go home victors.
Camry Porter also contributed a full stat line of 8 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists.
Bianca Casares was the only other Sentinel in double figures with 12 points.
The Sentinels have an exhibition scheduled with Baker College on February 12th and then travel to Aberdeen, SD to rematch against the Presentation Saints. The Sentinels defeated the Saints at home earlier in the season. Looking down the road, Kansas Christian will play in Omaha on February 21st as a part of the NCC Senior Night Celebration.
