NCC Women's Basketball advanced to Regionals in Moore, Oklahoma and faced off with the #1 seed Mid-America University on March 6.
The Sentinels got off to a rough start, allowing an 11-1 run to begin the game. Mid-America held onto an 11-point lead at the end of the first quarter (10-21). Starting in the first quarter, Mid-America continued a 21-2 run, putting NCC down by 24 midway through the second quarter (12-36). At the half, the Sentinels trailed by 22 points (19-41).
In the second half, NCC picked up two quick buckets but their momentum was quickly stifled by back-to-back three's from Mid-America. At the end of the third quarter, the Sentinels were down by 34 (39-73). Mid-America continued to dominate offensively and in the end, NCC finished out their season with a 42-point loss (54-96).
Jazmyne Santiel finished with a double-double with 18 points and a season-high 12 rebounds. Santiel also had 5 steals. Kayla Bloodworth added 9 points, 15 rebounds, 5 blocks, and 4 assists. Aleita Amparan added 10 points and 5 rebounds.
For Mid-America, Shaylan Coleman had a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds.
