On Monday, October 21st the Nebraska Christian Sentinel Women's Soccer Team hosted the Faith Baptist Bible College Eagles at Springfield Soccer Complex. The Eagles won the match 5-0, but the Sentinels were able to celebrate their Senior,
Jessica Hinde, in her final home game.
The Eagles scored 2 early goals, but the Sentinel defense did not fold. The Sentinels held the Eagles scoreless for the next 43 minutes. Faith Baptist made several substitutions and used the fresh legs to score 3 more goals in the second half. Despite the loss, Coach Tosaya found some positives in the Sentinels' effort. "We wanted to work on our defense today and I think we did a good job for most of the game. We had to find ourselves early, but we cut the goal total in half from our previous match with Faith."
After the game, the NCC Men and Women celebrated
Jessica Hinde as the first Senior to go through the Sentinel Soccer Program. Hinde was an NCCAA Scholar Athlete all 3 seasons at NCC (2017, 2018, and 2019). She played both Goal Keeper and Mid-Fielder for the Sentinels. She retires as the program leader in games played and games started. Hinde finished her B.S. in Human Development in May of 2019 and is currently pursuing her M.S. in Counseling. Hinde has been a fantastic student, athlete, teammate, and example for the program. NCC Soccer was blessed to have her the past 3 years and trusts that she will continue a pattern of excellence wherever God leads her.
Hinde and the Sentinels will next be on the road Friday, October 25th for a rematch against their rival Lincoln Christian College. Faith Baptist will host Maranatha Baptist on Saturday, October 26th.
