On Monday, October 21st The Nebraska Christian College Men's Soccer Team hosted Faith Baptist Bible College for the rematch of a double overtime thriller earlier this year. This game was another close battle, but the Sentinels were again victorious by a final count of 1-0.
In the early-going, each team took a few chances without success. However, late in the first half
RaShawn Jackson got loose for the Sentinels and finished off a long run with the only goal of the contest. Jackson scored the game-winning goal at 29:24 into the contest and recorded his 9th goal of the season. Each team continued to battle in the second half. Faith had a few opportunities but goal-keeper
Dakota Fox came up big for the Sentinels with his 3rd shutout of the season. Coach Tosaya said the team focus was defense today so the shut out was a big accomplishment for this group. "The shutout was a team effort today. Our guys did a great job of keeping their shape and communicated to earn this clean sheet. This game was definitely a step in the right direciton for us."
Faith Baptist with host Maranatha Baptist on Saturday, October 26th. The Sentinels will next take on rival Lincoln Christian Friday, October 25th in Lincoln, Illinois. The previous meeting between these two teams was a tightly contested 1-0 victory for NCC.
