The Sentinels Struggle Against Dordt
NCC Women's Basketball hosted Dordt College on February 6.
Dordt scored the first 6 points of the game and went on to quickly extend their lead to double digits. After the first quarter, the Sentinels trailed 26-10. Dordt continued to build on their lead in the second quarter and closed the half on a 7-0 from the free throw line to extend their lead to 31 going into halftime (52-21).
Dordt extended their lead to 39 points in the third quarter. NCC countered with a 16-4 run to end the quarter bringing them within 27 points (70-43). The Sentinels suffered an 8-minute scoring drought in the fourth quarter. During this time Dordt scored 15 points, extending their lead back up to 41 points (85-44). The Sentinels answered with an 8-0 run and in the end, suffered the 86-52 loss to Dordt College.
Kayla Bloodworth was one block shy of a triple-double with 22 points, 15 rebounds, and 9 blocks.
Tristyn Dunivant finished with 12 points and
Janice Saulters had 11 points including a perfect 3-3 from beyond the arc.
Dordt's leading scorer was Erika Feenstra with 21 points.
Next, the Sentinels will travel to Omaha, NE to take on College of Saint Mary on Friday, February 8 at 6p.m.
