NCC Drops to Haskell Indian Nations

NCC Men's Basketball traveled to Lawrence, Kansas to take on Haskell Indian Nations University on February 13.

Haskell started the game in a 15-3 run, giving them the early double-digit lead. For the remainder of the half, the Sentinels worked to cut into the lead, however Haskell always maintained a lead of 3 or more points for the entire half. Going into halftime, NCC trailed by 7 (49-42). 

The Sentinels started the second half on a 10-2 run, giving them their first lead of the game (52-51). Haskell quickly regained the lead and held onto it. With 5 minutes remaining, NCC managed to cut the lead to 2-points (68-66). Haskell closed the game on a 10-2 run, handing the Sentinels the (78-68).

DJ Hanes led the Sentinels in scoring with 34 points. TJ Rivera ended with 17 points and 8 rebounds. 

Haskell's leading scorer was Nakia Hendricks with 17 points. 

Next, the Sentinels will travel to Lincoln, Illinois to take on Lincoln Christian University on Saturday, February 17 at 4p.m.
