NCC Women's Basketball traveled to Forest City, Iowa to take on Waldorf University on December 13.
Waldorf gained the early 11-6 lead but an 8-0 run from the Sentinels gave NCC the 3-point lead going into the second quarter. The Sentinels stuck close in the second quarter but Waldorf managed to gain a 9-point lead at the end of the half (28-37).
Coming out of halftime, NCC went on a run to cut the lead down to 2 (35-37). But Waldorf gained some offensive momentum and secured a double-digit lead near the close of the third quarter. A three from the Sentinels cut the lead to single digits at the end of the quarter (49-58). Waldorf held a double-digit lead for the majority of the fourth quarter, resulting in the 66-77 loss for NCC.
Kayla Bloodworth led the Sentinels with 31 points shooting 80% from the field (12-15). Bloodworth also had 14 rebounds and 7 blocks.
Jazmyne Santiel contributed 14 points and
Jessica Hinde grabbed 7 rebounds.
For Waldorf, Taylor Fricke finished with 19 points.
Next, the Sentinels will travel to Kearney, Nebraska to take on University of Nebraska-Kearney in an exhibition game on Saturday, December 15 at 2p.m.
