NCC Women's Soccer hosted Manhattan Christian College on September 29.
The Sentinels came out strong, scoring a goal in the first five minutes of play, giving NCC the early 1-0 edge over Manhattan. The Sentinels held onto their lead for the remainder of the half, making the halftime score 1-0.
In the second half, Manhattan managed to tie the game, 1-1, both teams fought hard to break the tie, but neither team could manage a goal. At the end of regulation, the game was tied 1-1. The scoring drought continued through the first overtime, forcing a second overtime. During the second overtime Manhattan found an opening and scored, ending the game 1-2 in favor of Manhattan.
Jessica Hinde scored one goal and goalkeeper
Paige Hickey recorded 16 saves for NCC.
For Manhattan, Elly Johnson and Sara Ward each scored one goal.
Next, the Sentinels will travel to Winfield, Kansas to take on Southwestern College on Wednesday, October 10 at 1p.m.
