NCC Falls to Presentation College
NCC Women's Basketball traveled to Aberdeen, South Dakota to take on the Presentation College Saints on January 2.
Presentation started the game with back-to-back threes, giving the Saints the early 6-point lead. The Sentinels answered with back-to-back threes tying the game 6-6. Another three from NCC gave them their first lead of the game (9-8). A 17-3 run from Presentation to close the quarter gave them the 13-point lead heading into the second quarter (25-12). NCC cut the lead back down to 9 with 7 minutes left in the second quarter; however, it did not take long for the Saints to push their lead back up to 20 points. At the half, NCC trailed by 16 (49-33).
Presentation quickly extended their lead to 23 coming out of the half. The Sentinels answered with an 8-0 run, cutting the lead to 15 (58-43). At the end of the third quarter, NCC was down 64-48. Presentation outscored the Sentinels 26-18 in the fourth quarter, making the final score 90-66 in favor of the Saints.
NCC's leading scorer was
Tristyn Dunivant with 21 points.
Alexis Frondarina totaled 15 points and 5 assists.
Kayla Bloodworth recorded her 11
th double double of the season with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Bloodworth also had 6 blocks.
Presentation's leading scorer was Macy Tolle with 22 points, followed by Allison Cox with 21 points, followed by Shayla Strauss with 20 points.
Next, the Sentinels will host Ecclesia College on Saturday, January 6 at 12p.m.
