NCC Falls to Emmaus
NCC Women's Basketball hosted Emmaus Bible College on January 19.
Emmaus went on an early 10-0 run in the first quarter, which gave them the 14-4 lead over the Sentinels in the opening minutes of the game. NCC answered with a 13-1 run which gave them back the lead at 17-15. At the end of the first quarter, NCC held a one-point advantage over Emmaus. In the second quarter, the Sentinels quickly extended their lead to 5 (25-20). However, Emmaus answered with a 15-0 run that gave them back a 10-point lead (35-25). Going into halftime, the Sentinels were down 40-33.
The Sentinels started the second half with back-to-back buckets, cutting the lead to 3. Emmaus quickly built their lead back up to 10 points with 5 minutes left in the third quarter. NCC managed the lead to 6 going into the fourth quarter (51-45). The Sentinels cut the lead to one in the opening minute of the fourth quarter. However, Emmaus pulled away, gaining their largest lead of the game in the fourth quarter. In the end, the Sentinels suffered the 70-57 loss.
Kayla Bloodworth was one block shy of a triple double with 13 points, 17 rebounds, and 9 blocks.
Tristyn Dunivant recorded 11 points and 7 rebounds.
Jessica Hinde finished with 9 points and 7 rebounds and
Alexis Frondarina had 8 points and 6 assists.
Emmaus's leading scorer was Madison Laib with 24 points and 13 rebounds.
Next, the Sentinels will host Kansas Christian College on Tuesday, January 23 at 5p.m.
