The Sentinels Defeat Emmaus
NCC Men's Basketball hosted Emmaus Bible College on January 19.
Emmaus started the game on an 8-0 run. The Sentinels worked to cut into the lead and they managed a 12-0 run midway through the first half, which gave them their first lead of the game (20-17). NCC led by as many as 6 in the first half, going into halftime, the Sentinels held a 5-point lead over Emmaus (46-41).
The Sentinels continued to slowly extend their lead in the opening minutes of the second half. At the 15-minute mark, NCC began their 21-6 run, which gave the Sentinels a 22-point lead with just under 9 minutes remaining (78-56). The Sentinels kept trying to extend their lead, culminating in a 33-point advantage to end the game (106-73).
DJ Hanes led the Sentinels with 43 points and 5 rebounds.
TJ Rivera was one assist shy of a double double with 19 points and 9 assists.
Emmaus's leading scorer was Caleb Postma with 19 points, followed by Steven Horan with 16 points.
Next, the Sentinels will travel to Florissant, MO to take on St. Louis Christian College on Saturday, January 20 at 5p.m.
