NCC Struggles Against Bellevue

NCC Women's Basketball traveled to Bellevue, Nebraska to take on Bellevue University on January 9.
 
Bellevue outscored the Sentinels 19-6 in the first quarter however, a half court buzzer beater from Jessica Hinde cut the lead down to 10 going into the second quarter. NCC scored the first basket of the second quarter, however Bellevue followed up with 6 consecutive points, extending their lead to 14 (25-11) halfway through the second quarter. At the half, NCC trailed by 16 (32-16).
 
In the second half, Bellevue continued to build on their lead, leading by 24 in the third quarter. At the end of the third quarter the Sentinels we down 50-28. Bellevue added 10 more points to their lead in the fourth quarter, handing NCC the 32-point loss (72-40).
 
Kayla Bloodworth led the Sentinels with 17 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 blocks. Aleita Amparan and Alexis Frondarina each totaled 7 points and 5 rebounds.
 
Bellevue's leading scorer was Elexis Martinez with 17 points.
 
Next, the Sentinels will travel to Lincoln, NE to take on Union College on Saturday, January 13 at 6p.m.
