The Sentinels Hold Off Ozark Christian

NCC Women's Basketball traveled to Joplin, Missouri to take on Ozark Christian College on December 14.
 
The Sentinels gained a slight lead to begin the game, however Ozark tied the game 8-8 midway through the first quarter. NCC answered with a 13-0 run, giving them the 23-8 lead. At the end of the first quarter, NCC led 23-15. Ozark worked their way back into the game, cutting the lead to 3 in the second quarter. Going into halftime, the Sentinels led 39-34.
 
In the second half, NCC tried to rebuild their earlier lead, regaining a 13-point advantage. At the end of the third quarter, the Sentinels led 58-48. NCC opened the fourth quarter with an 8-0 run, giving them their largest lead of the game with an 18-point advantage (66-48). NCC continued to extend their lead, culminating with a 22-point lead to end the game (79-57).
 
Kayla Bloodworth led the Sentinels in scoring with 28 points, breaking her career high for the third consecutive game. Bloodworth also grabbed 14 rebounds and blocked 6 shots. Alexis Frondarina totaled 26 points. Frondarina has scored 20 or more points in the last four consecutive games.
 
Ozark Christian's leading scorer was Adreonna Hughes with 16 points.
 
Next, the Sentinels will close the semester by traveling to Rapid City, SD to take on South Dakota School of Mines & Technology in an Exhibition game on Monday, December 18 at 5p.m.
