The Sentinels Fall to Manhattan
NCC Women's Basketball traveled to Manhattan, Kansas to take on Manhattan Christian College on December 2.
Manhattan scored the first points of the game and did not give up their lead in the first quarter. The Sentinels stayed close, trailing by 4 after the first quarter (15-11). In the second quarter, a 9-3 run from the Sentinels gave them their first lead of the game with 6:33 remaining in the first half. At the half, NCC held a 1-point advantage over Manhattan (27-26).
In the third quarter, Manhattan went on a 7-0 run, giving them their largest lead of the game (37-30). At the end of the quarter, NCC was down by 5 (38-33). In the fourth quarter, the Sentinels looked to close the gap and fight their way back into the game, however, foul trouble took two starters out of the game for the closing minutes. In the end, the Sentinels suffered their 6
th loss of the season (52-58).
Alexis Frondarina led the Sentinels in scoring with 21 points. Janice Saulters totaled 13 points.
Manhattan's leading scorer was Katherine Wegner with 11 points.
Next, the Sentinels will travel to Dubuque, IA to take on Emmaus Bible College on Saturday, December 9 at 5p.m.
