The Sentinels Rout Ozark Christian
NCC Men's Basketball traveled to Joplin, Missouri to take on Ozark Christian College on December 14.
The Sentinels opened the game with 6 unanswered points, giving NCC the early lead. Ozark Christian would cut away at the lead for the remainder of the game. With just under five minutes remaining in the first half, Ozark Christian tied the game 27-27. However, the Sentinels answered with three consecutive triples, which lead to NCC's 13-0 run, giving the Sentinels the 40-27 advantage. NCC closed the half with another short 7-point run, extending their lead to 19 going into the half (52-33).
NCC consistently held a 20-point lead in the beginning of the second half. Eventually, the Sentinels built their lead up into the thirties, leading by as many as 37 during the half. In the end, NCC recorded their 11
th win of the season. NCC broke 100 points for the fifth time this season with a final score of 101-65 in the Sentinels' win over Ozark Christian. NCC improves to 11-3 and Ozark Christian drops to 3-5.
DJ Hanes led the Sentinels with 23 points and 6 assists.
TJ Rivera totaled 19 points and 5 rebounds and
Jovon Coleman had 12 points and 8 rebounds.
Ozark Christian's leading scorer was Deion Clark with 12 points, followed by Cooper Allmoslecher with 10 points.
Next, the Sentinels will close the semester by traveling to Rapid City, SD to take on South Dakota School of Mines & Technology in an Exhibition game on Monday, December 18 at 7p.m.
