The Sentinels Fall to Johnson & Wales
NCC Women's Basketball hosted Johnson & Wales University on November 3.
The Sentinels took the early 2-0 lead in the opening minutes of the game. Both teams exchanged baskets until Johnson & Wales closed the quarter on an 11-4 run, putting the Sentinels down 15-10 after the first quarter. Johnson and Wales started the second quarter on an 11-2 run, extending their lead to 14. At the half NCC cut the deficit to 10, trailing Johnson & Wales 28-18.
Johnson and Wales continued on with a 12-2 run, extending their lead to 17. At the end of the third quarter, NCC was down 36-52. Johnson and Wales led by as many as 23 in the fourth quarter. A 6-0 run from the Sentinels to close the game brought the final score to 62-45.
Kayla Bloodworth recorded her first double double of the season with 12 points, 16 rebounds, and 5 blocks. Alexis Frondarina had 10 points and 4 rebounds. Jerrica Perez had 6 points and Tristyn Dunivant had 5 points.
Johnson & Wales's leading scorer was Andromeda Sales with 15 points and 8 rebounds, followed by Cara McNiff with 14 points.
Next, the Sentinels will host Johnson & Wales University on Saturday, November 4 at 2p.m.
