The Sentinels Fall to Bethany
NCC Women's basketball traveled to Lindsborg, Kansas to take on Bethany College on October 30.
Bethany started the game with a 9-0 run. After the first quarter, the Sentinels trailed 13-7. Bethany continued to extend their lead during the second quarter, leading by as many as 14 points. However, the Sentinels would cut the lead to 6 going into halftime. The score at the half was 26-20 in favor of Bethany.
Bethany started the third quarter with a 14-0 run. The Sentinels struggled to keep up with Bethany's offense and NCC trailed 52-34 going into fourth quarter. Bethany extended their lead to as many as 22 points. The Sentinels went on an 11-2 run during the fourth quarter cutting the lead to 10. In the end, Bethany came out with the 62-50 win.
Alexis Frondarina led the Sentinels with 23 points and 3 steals. Aleita Amparan had 12 points. Kayla Bloodworth was one block shy of a double double with 13 rebounds and 9 blocks.
Bethany's leading scorer was Marissa Pope with 12 points and 5 rebounds. Sydney Ahaneku had 9 points and 8 rebounds, Cassidy Enns had 7 points and 10 rebounds.
Next, the Sentinels will host Johnson & Wales University on Friday, November 3 at 5p.m.
