NCC Falls to Waldorf in Home Opener

NCC Women's basketball kicked off their season at home against Waldorf University on October 27.
 
Waldorf started off with an early lead, but the Sentinels stayed within 4 points early on. Then, Waldorf went on an 8-0 run putting them up 20-10. NCC answered with a 9-0 run cutting the lead back down to 1. However a 14-0 run from Waldorf put the Sentinels down 34-19. Waldorf would continue to extend their lead to as many as 25. In the end, Waldorf came out with the 63-41 victory.
 
NCC's leading scorer was Alexis Frondarina with 13 points. Kayla Bloodworth was one reboudns shy of a double double with 12 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 blocks. Tristyn Dunivant had 5 points and 2 rebounds. Jerrica Perez had 5 points and 2 assists.
 
Waldorf's leading scorer was Samantha Birkes with 14 points. Morgan Straight and Taylor Fricke each had 11 points.
 
Next, the Sentinels will travel to Lindsborg, KS to take on Bethany College on Monday, October 30 at 6p.m.
