NCC Defeats Johnson & Wales

NCC Women's Basketball hosted Johnson & Wales University on November 4.
 
Both teams started out strong in the first quarter, neither team gaining a large lead. Going into the second quarter, the Sentinels led by 4, 21-17. A 7-0 run for the Sentinels put NCC up by 9, midway through the second quarter. At the half, NCC led Johnson & Wales 43-30.
 
NCC continued to build on their lead in the third quarter, leading Johnson & Wales by as many as 21. At the end of the third quarter, the Sentinels led, 55-40. Both teams exchanged baskets in the fourth quarter, with NCC retaining their lead throughout. The final score was 71-57 in the first win for the NCC Women's Basketball team.
 
Kayla Bloodworth recorded her second double-double of the season with 19 points and 16 rebounds. Bloodworth also had 3 blocks and 3 assists. Alexis Frondarina went 70% from the field and totaled 19 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists. Aleita Amparan had 16 points and 4 rebounds.
 
Johnson & Wales's leading scorer was Andromeda Sales with 14 and rebounds. Cara McNiff and Salma Oros each had 10 points.
 
Next, the Sentinels will travel to Lincoln, NE to take on Union College on Wednesday, November 8 at 5p.m.
