The Sentinels Come Out on Top in Overtime
NCC Men's Basketball traveled to Springdale, Arkansas to take on Ecclesia College on November 17.
The Sentinels came into the game hungry for a victory after suffering their first loss of the season against William Penn earlier in the week. Ecclesia sought to break their 7-game losing streak and secure their first victory of the season. In a hard fought battle, NCC would come out with the 94-88 win in overtime, improving their record to 6-1 and knocking Ecclesia to 0-8.
Both teams exchanged baskets throughout the first half. Going into halftime NCC had a two-point advantage over Ecclesia. In the second half, Ecclesia outscored the Sentinels by two, which tied the game 76-76 at the end of regulation. NCC took control during overtime, and finished with a 94-88 victory over Ecclesia in overtime.
DJ Hanes led the Sentinels in scoring with 45 points, including going 19-22 from the free throw line. TJ Rivera and Matt Lillquist each totaled 14 points.
Ecclesia's leading scorer was Cash Krueger with 23 points.
Next, the Sentinels will travel to Point Lookout, MO to take on College of the Ozarks on Saturday, November 18 at 7p.m.
