The Sentinels Cruise by CCCB
NCC Men's Basketball traveled to Moberly, Missouri to take on Central Christian College of the Bible on November 11.
The Sentinels took the early 5-point lead, however Central Christian quickly tied the game 7-7. Central Christian soon went on a 9-2 run, which put NCC down by 5 (16-11). The Sentinels then regained the lead with an 8-0 run. Both teams continued to exchange buckets for a majority of the first half. NCC closed the half outscoring Central Christian 24-12 in the last 8 minutes of the half, putting the Sentinels up by 10 at the half (54-44).
An early 10-0 run for NCC extended their lead to 21 (68-47). Central Christian answered with a 14-3 run which cut the lead to 10. A 9-0 run by Central Christian which brought them within 5 points of the Sentinels with 8 minutes remaining. Back-to-back threes from TJ Rivera pushed their lead back up to 11. NCC ended the game on a 10-2 run securing the 108-89 victory over Central Christian.
NCC's leading scorer was DJ Hanes with 43 points. Hanes also had 8 rebounds, 4 assists, and 4 steals. Matt Lillquist had a double double pulling down an impressive 25 rebounds along with 13 points. Jovon Coleman also had a double double with 16 points and 10 rebounds.
Central Christian's leading scorer was Kedron Rollings with 25 points.
Next, the Sentinels will travel to Oskaloosa, IA to take on #3 William Penn University on Tuesday, November 14 at 7:30p.m.
